Differences between LAN, WAN, & MAN

What is LAN (Local Area Network): It is a network that covers a small geographic area, such as an office, a building, or a campus. A LAN connects computers and devices within the same location using cables or wireless connections. A LAN can be used to share resources such as files, printers, and internet connections. '

What is WAN (Wide Area Network): It is a network that covers a large geographic area, such as a country or the entire world. WANs are used to connect LANs that are located in different geographic locations. WANs use public or private telecommunication links, such as leased lines, satellites, or the internet, to connect devices over long distances.

What is MAN (Metropolitan Area Network): It is a network that covers a metropolitan area, such as a city or a town. A MAN is larger than a LAN but smaller than a WAN. MANs are used to connect LANs in different parts of a city or town. MANs can use both wired and wireless connections, such as fiber optic cables or microwave links.
