How to Configure a VPN on Windows 10 and Windows 11

 A Virtual Private Network (VPN) creates a secure connection between your Windows computer and a VPN server. It is commonly used for secure remote access to company networks and private resources.

Steps to Configure a VPN

1. Open VPN Settings

Go to:

Settings → Network & Internet → VPN

Click Add a VPN connection.

2. Enter VPN Details

Select Windows (built-in) as the VPN provider and enter the required information:

• Connection Name: Enter a name such as Company VPN
• Server Name or Address: Enter the VPN server address
• VPN Type: Select the type provided by your organization

5. Disconnect

When you no longer need the VPN, return to:

Settings → Network & Internet → VPN

Select the connection and click Disconnect.

For better security, use the VPN protocol recommended by your organization, such as IKEv2 or SSTP, strong encryption such as AES-256, and MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) when available.
